There’s interference in the signal,
but it’s still not dead yet.

Haven’t bothered with the radio in years…
Just been playing the same old CDs
till you half-forgot there WAS a radio!

What comes from the other end?
A clear bright tone —
you have to work to hear it —
adumbrations of a Black Hole,
as if that’s what one sounds like,
or the way they bend space
and time…

Such a narrow frequency…
do you ever think you’re imagining it?
But if you could get it perfect,
just once…
what more could you ask?
